Sera Siporax – 1 Litre

Sera Siporax is a highly effective, long-term filter medium, also intended for smaller bio filters. One litre of Siporax has the same capacity as 34 litres of ceramic or clay filters, and, therefore, is the best value for your money on the market. All other filter media are much more expensive based on the surface area of one liter of Siporax. Bacteria that decomposes organic matter grows on Siporax bio filters, instead of nitrifying or denitrifying bacteria. This means that the pores of the filter do not become clogged with dead bacteria – dead bacteria is decomposed. The bio film shrinks and expands according to the water. Siporax is therefore the only self-cleaning biological filter. The pore structure is perfect for settlement due to the bacteria. Due to the unique pore structure, Siporax promotes an ideal water current. This allows it to be used regardless of the speed of the external current. It can be used in slow, fast, and trickling filters. In small aquariums with inadequately sized internal filters, Siporax can be simply placed in a mesh pouch in the aquarium. Because Siporax functions independently of the filter current, it is still very effective even in very slow currents.
