Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Cat – Hepatic HP 26 – Economy Pack: 2 x 2kg
Royal Canin Feline Veterinary Diet – Hepatic provides nutritional support for cats suffering from liver disease and insufficiency. It is also suitable for cats suffering from hepatotoxicosis (copper storage disease) and hepatic encephalopathy. If your cat has liver disease it is advisable to feed it with a diet which has an increased energy content. This means that you can feed small amounts throughout the day to reduce the load on your cat’s digestive system. The low copper content in Royal Canin Feline Hepatic also helps to reduce copper accumulation in liver cells. A special antioxidant complex helps to neutralise free radicals and this tasty kibble can help to regulate cell regeneration and minimise liver dysfunction. Indications: Cholangiohepatitis Cholestase Hepatic encephalopathy Hepatotoxicosis (copper storage disease) Liver failure Portosystemic shunt Contraindications: Hyperlipidemia Hepatic lipidosis (except when in connection with hepatic encephalopathy) Pregnant or lactating cats, kittens Key benefits: High energy: Provides adult cats with adequate energy without overloading the stomach. High palatability: Well accepted by cats which have lost their appetite or are very choosy. Low copper: Low copper levels help to reduce copper accumulation in the liver cells. Antioxidant protection: A synergistic antioxidant complete (vitamin E, C, taurine, lutein) helps to neutralise free radicals. Length of treatment: The feeding duration will depend on the severity of the symptoms and how quickly the liver regenerates. A six month feeding period is recommended.
