Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Cat – Obesity Management DP 42 – Economy Pack: 2 x 6kg
This high protein, low calorie diet is well accepted by most pets, and provides valuable support to dogs on weight reduction programmes, by counteracting potential muscle loss. Proteins have 30% less energy compared with a comparable level of carbohydrates, making this high protein diet ideal for cats trying to lose weight for their health. Indications: If your pet is overweight If your pet suffers from constipation Contraindications : Pregnancy or lactation, kittens Key benefits: High protein: High protein content to help maintain muscle mass throughout the weight loss period. Balanced nutrients : Enriched with nutrients, minerals and vitamins to avoid deficiencies when calorie intake is restricted. Bone and joint health : Chondroitin sulphate (inhibits enzymatic degradation of chondrocytes) and glucosamine (stimulates formation of glycosaminoglycans) help to prevent degenerative joint disease. EPA/DHA: Fatty acids to help maintain a healthy digestive system and a healthy skin. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids which can help to reduce inflammatory joint reactions. Changing your pet’s diet and length of treatment: The length of time your pet needs to stay on a reducing diet depends on how much weight needs to be lost. Ideal weight loss is 1 to 3% of bodyweight per week. To prevent the development hepatic lipidosis, make sure that your cat takes well to its new feed. Therapeutic veterinary diets are carefully formulated and recommended to be used in conjunction with veterinary advice and support.
